Delighted with this straightforward app. No frills. No troubleshooting. No installs on your computer. Works perfectly!
Tends to lose connection to the computer and takes forever to connect when it does. Takes a long time to switch between computers (if it does at all). That being said, when it works it works well.
Wont find my Mac on the network and not a word of instructions anywhere. Useless thus far.
Simple and effective :)
Perfect!
Works as promised on leopard, but cannot make it log on to snow leopard machine. Fix it!
Doesnt work. It thinks...it thinks...then crashes. They stole a buck from me and thats a shame.
App is simple and it controls volume on my MacBook Pro perfectly. Not too difficult to set up once I figured out which username and password to use. It was simply my MacBook login user and password.
Works like a charm! Super easy to set up, just follow the directions they give. I really like that you dont have to download a program to be constantly running on the Mac for this to work. And it has a mute feature! Thanks for making this!
Includes a short instructional video for setting up remote login on your Mac. Very easy setup and works perfectly for controlling volume remotely. It works from the couch, the kitchen, even from the next room over with no line of sight.
Works perfectly. Downloaded and up in running in minutes. Simple and elegant. Bravo guys!
Thought this would be a good app while I deal with a broken foot but no. Even after reconnecting my MacBook twice the app lagged then stopped working altogether. The mute never worked. Dont waste the 99 cents.
I will update my rating if the developer ever responds to my problem. I have latest iTunes (10.0.1), OSX (10.6.4), iOS (4.1) and this app (1.1). I enabled Remote Login on a couple computers. When select a computer and enter username and password, I get a spinning wheel for a few seconds and the app quits. The volume control screen never appears. I followed all troubleshooting steps: deauthorize/reauthorize computer, remove/reinstall app, but nothing helped. Emailed developer and issued iTunes report - no useful response yet from developer.
I had a need for this and it does exactly as promised. Perfect. Im using Snow Leopard without any problems.
Worthless app. I could not even search for my mac. It didnt work at all. I have latest v. of iOS 4.1.2. I paid $ for nothing. Asking for a refund.
Works with snow leopard. Go to system prefs on your mac. Click on sharing folder. Check box next to remote sharing (turning it on). Your computer should now show up on your handheld device. Enter proper user name and pw. (same name as your home folder on the mac). Then you should be good. !!!make sure that the computer and the iPhone/iPod are both connected to the same wifi signal, otherwise wont do it!!!
Update on Nov. 11, 2010 seems to have resolved crashing issues. Fours stars because the video setup link does not work, leaving me to try to figure out how to make this work on my own. All you guys who keep insisting that this app doesnt work at all, heres what you need to do: System Preferences->Sharing. Enable Remote Login. I suggest you create a user with limited rights, just for this app. FYI - The app logs into your Mac via SSH and issues volume control commands.
This ap works perfectly, although the video didnt work, I figured it out by the guy who included the system preference instructions on his review. Just know that your computer ID or username are case sensitive, also when adjusting the volume through this ap, you wont see the adjustment on your MacBook, but youll hear the difference in a fraction of a second. Precisely what I was looking for and no frills or ads, very simple!
It works fine on admin accounts but not on managed parental control accounts. Sharing must be turned on.
